First of all, I will talk about this place from a guy's perspective. There's only a few critical pieces of information that's relevant and I won't waste your time bitching about an isolated incident where one time, some dude looked at me the wrong way and I got all hyphy on him. So here's the stuff you need to know: Dress code: there really isn't one. Just wear a collared shirt and some chucks and you'll be fine. Cover: there is none! Brownie points for Bubble. Drinks: pretty pricey relative to other SF bars/lounges but not outrageous (i.e. $8-$9 for a mixed drink or shot)...but isn't that why we pre-drink? Crowd: 60% Asian, 40% mix of White, Persian, Mexican (i don't care about being PC) Girls: there are usually several groups of cute ladies. My single guy friends really appreciate this about Bubble and that's why we end up here when we have trouble thinking of places to go. Quote from a visiting guy friend: "Everytime I come to SF, we have to go to Bubble Lounge!". I'm not lying. He's picky as shit too so that says something. Dancing: There's a downstairs area with a DJ and another bar (brownie points for multiple bars) but you'll end up sweating for sure. They play good music though.

This is one of those places that I just can't quite figure out. The place is beautiful, and the full bar with a coffee shop feel is nice...but it's really not very comfy. I'm not sure why, but I never feel totally at ease here. They do have some yummy desserts, though!

By far one of my favorite places to see music in the city. Not only are they the perfect size, not too large where you can't see, but big enough to attract popular  band (okay, popular to me...). I like how if you get there early you can snag side tables and that they are not all "reserved" like at the filmore. Their drinks are decent although pricey. The quality of sound is always top notch, and coming from me, that's saying a lot (I was a techie for awhile, I know when things are wrong). Their lights are of course, not as cool as some other venues, but hey... since you can actually see the band, who needs super fancy lights... yeah? Basically this place is awesome, and if you have never been here, don't let the 'hood deter you, it's a great place.
