by Mimi C. on Ah...how did I forget to review Iron Chef Morimoto's restaurant? Loved the ambiance here - very funky and slightly surreal. We expected to pay A LOT for this place but it turned out that their lunch is actually quite reasonably priced (we found this to be true at Iron Chef Sakai's restaurant in Tokyo too - is lunch the secret? ;)). Ordered the beef gyudon - to my memory, the beef was really tender but I suppose nothing totally different from what I've had in Gardena. Very fresh rice (I'm a picky rice person. ~.^). The most memorable was the omakase my friend ordered (which was actually just $40 for their small size omakase. They have a arger one for $80). Definitely very good fish. Their lunch entrees come with miso soup and salad as well. Definitely a cool place to check out! =) Morimoto was not there... not surprised. I wonder if we will ever get to meet these Iron Chefs, we tried to see Sakai in Tokyo but apparently he was in France. Bah.
by Arden Cembura on Great place, I think. I don't remember a whole lot except buying a ton of drinks but having only a $77 bar tab.. So I guess they have cheap drinks, a huge plus! DJ played the typical club music to dance to. As usual, we formed the embarrassing circle of "Dance Off" - OMG Bathroom line seemed forever, but what else did you expect with a intoxicated state of mind and a brimful bladder? Is this even a worthy review? I say yes because a) cheap drinks. b) feel good club music. c) surprisingly, they allowed us to be monkeys without any security supervision. Thanks Bruno. you da man.
