Greasy, dripping with cheese, cheap and, for what it's worth, good. While you probably wouldn't find a serious food critic even looking at the place if you want something that will fill you up, leave your breath tasting like onions and make you question eating the whole thing this is the place. When you get there you'll know it. If you're within a 3 block radius at night you'll know it. It looks like a Vegas strip reject sent to Philadelphia. The food is just like the place, loud in your face and over the top.

My imitable companion and I rolled in to SCK late, like we-were-the-last-ones-to-be-seated-that-night-my-a pologies-to-the-kitchen-and-staff late. Regardless of our tardiness we got attentive service and delicious food. I opted to go for the one of the specials, which was seriously imposing cut of cow that was almost over-shadowed by the lobster potato mash. My lady across the table -- being a GF connoisseur of all rice dishes -- opted to try the purloo, which was equally delicious. I was well pleased with their wine selection, which could have easily been an insipid mix of non-threatening swill (the place is right across the street from Opera), but SCK offered up a delightful mix of styles and regions. We selected a bottle of K Vintners Ovide (CabSav/Syrah), which is a wine I would bathe in, were I not so studiously focused on drinking it. The service was amiable and eager, if somewhat unpolished, rather like a large puppy. This is not a complaint, but as someone who has spent more than his fair share in the industry, I can tell when my server isn't quite comfortable in his apron yet. Overall, though, I'd give him high marks. He queried the kitchen about gluten-free dishes and when I had questions about the wine list he promptly brought the bottles to table for my edification. Overall, I'd give SCK high marks all around, but I think I'll have to only frequent it a few seconds before they stop seating. Nothing against the restaurant itself, mind you, it's just I can only imagine what feels like to be there when it's packed with Opera-goers.
