by A S. on Bad bad bad. We looked this place up on rateclubs and read Manton R.'s review saying this was one of the better hip hop joints in SF. Cool, I love me some good hip hop. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. They want $15 at the door (really?? for a "club" in Russian Hill??) despite the fact that NO ONE was trying to get into this place. Thankfully (? I guess) we got in for just $5 / each. Place was totally empty save for the table of Asian chicks with their own photographers in tow. Not even kidding, they brought paparazzi with them. We decided to hang out, have a couple of drinks and see if it filled in / music got better. Playlist marginally improved but the crowd was sad. Unless you consider Beyonce's "Single Ladies" to be good hip hop, true hip hop fans will be bumming at this spot.
by Annie M. on Delicious food! Sweet potato fries are to die for, wish I could make them myself just like theirs. They come in a little mini-grocery cart, so cute! I remember we had these seasonal beer samplers - I think you get like five samples of beer or something; they tell you all about each one. Very cool. I like sitting outside so you can people-watch. Gelato Spot is a must afterward (100 feet away or so). My only complaint would be the size of the place. You are in close quarters with everyone and can't really get the intimate feel if you're on a date.
