For all of you salseros in Austin, Dallas currently has the best salsa night in town. You have plenty of time to get ready before rolling in after 10 pm to catch the majority of dancers. Cover will only set you back a few dollars ($2 for ladies, $3 for guys). As you enter the club, you'll see an expensive wooden floor on the left. It is the largest salsa dance floor in town. Dallas offers drink specials all night. As you savor your drink, a beautiful dancer will walk past. You'll gracefully catch her hand while sliding your drink on the counter edging the dance floor. On this ideal floor, your shoes will never slip, as no one can bring drinks on the floor. It is clean and cared for. You'll slide across the floor, hips moving to the rhythms of the current DJ. And, the music is good--a mix of salsa, bachata and merengue, both old and new. If you only have one night to salsa, choose Dallas on Thursdays.

Super super cool spot! I love the concept: looking at and admiring art while sipping a potent martini. Could be dangerous, tho ... Keep those checkbooks in your pockets! ;) Stopped in earlier this week for some drinks as well as a hosted party. Huge lofty space - very cool vibe! I like that if you get burnt out on one area, you can leisurely stroll to another room or area - no limit to the space. However, it does get packed, so this doesn't mean that you have the entire spot to yourself - there always seems to be a crowd here. Speaks volumes for the bar actually - how often do we see a spot hit it HOT when it opens, then within months or a year it dies out. That is not the case here. I will definitely be back for more martinis and mingling ... Maybe there's a hot cool new fashion show coming up? Oooooh fashion show + martinis + cool and engaging crowd. Perfect evening!
