I thought Trigger was very nice. It is the newest, and one of the biggest bars in The Castro. They closed Badlands (the previous bar that was at that location), gutted the building and combined it with the space occupied by the business next door to make a much larger bar. The bar has a very pleasant and well dressed staff (they all wear sharp black suites). The bar is circular and in the center, which is very cool, (easy to find an opening to buy a drink). It has a small dance floor , great lighting and even a second story. From the second story, you can relax on the sofas and chat with friends. The balcony overlooks the whole bar. Very nice atmosphere. Kind of expensive. Definitely a nice addition to the Castro Bar scene.

I have been to Vertigo several times. Each time I have gone, at least from what I remember,(yeah I can be a lush I'll admit it.) I've had a good time. It's a good bar to go if you want something a little bit dumpy with dancing (i.e. not a pretentious club). The DJ plays some good jams. There is a decent size dance floor, there is a good spot for smoking in the back, and usually a good looking crowd of 20 somethings (which is a-ok with me). The one downside is, that it can get sooooo packed that you can't really move without hitting someone or getting hit, or getting a drink spilled on you. In this case, I would recommend getting a good enough buzz going so that the crowdedness doesn't bother you. So if you are looking for a dive bar, with dancing and a decent amount of good looking people, Vertigo is the place to go on a Friday/Saturday night.
