by Joseph B. on One of my favorite spots in town. The food is amazing, try the lamb&goat burger, mmm. One of the best parts is that the menu is almost entirely local, if not entirely. The drink menu is great, the bartenders there definitely embrace the art of mixology. Very creative atmosphere, I've heard the owner decorated and built most everything in the interior. There is usually live music, and every time I've been the bands were very entertaining. Love love love this place. Check it out, it's a great place to bring a date!
by Sandi Briscoe on I went to The Highlands Hollywood a while ago and remember the experience being okay. There wasn't anything that either made me really enjoy or dislike my night there. The drinks were good, but the bartender was kind of slow. The DJ was pretty good and I liked the music. The crowd was okay for the most part. The venue itself is nice. It has multiple dance floors and an outside patio for smoking. Parking is cheap too, just don't forget to get it validated. I would have voted this place 4 stars and enjoyed my experience, but I noticed the bouncers were pretty unprofessional. Nothing happened to me or my group, but I overheard some of the things the bouncers were saying to people, and they shouldn't be saying those kind of things. In short, if The Highlands hired better staff, I'd have rated this place 4 stars and would be coming more often.
