by Diana N. on During the summertime, the Frying Pan is a great place to have drinks outside with friends. You can get a bucket of six Coronas for $35. Located on the Hudson River, it's a chill spot (right next to Chelsea Piers) and if you go early and nab a table, it's a great spot to watch the sunset.
by Palma Tolbert on I've stayed in NYC for 7 days and went to several places. I was in Marquee, Tenjune and Pink Elephant. Marquee was the best. Why I hated Tenjune: 1) It's very small. 2) Retarded prices for drinks. $20 for regular drinks. $50 cover to get in. In other club I'd be happy to pay if it's worth it. I'll explain why it wasn't. 3) Dancing area is very small and not properly designed. You have narrow dance-floor with private areas surrounding it. As a result people from private areas have to dig through dance area all the time in order to get in and get out. You can't dance because somebody is always moving. That's just retarded. 4) Lame Top40 music. I know music taste is very relative but come on guys, high-profile wanna be club MUST play fresh quality electronic stuff !! God, you can even attach laptop to your audio-system, open website of Shouted.FM or Evolved.FM and have nice new music. Lady Gaga remixes are for cheap places such as Pink Elephant. 5) Greedy management let more people to the club than it can fit. People can't enjoy your club if you do that. Is it that hard to understand? Now let me explain why I'd pay even more money in other place. I'm from Moscow and was regular visitor at Soho Rooms and Pacha. I'm paying money to be comfortable, enjoy beautiful ladies and enjoy music. At Tenjune you have neither - lame remixes and overpacked microscopic dance-floor. AVOID. On positive note I can say that this place had the highest girls/guys ratio at the moment when I came (~11pm) that I've ever seen in America. It's changed by 2am but still it's very unusual for me to see so many models and model-looking girls in US. If you're into expensive meat come here. Tenjune also has lounge area. It's nice rescue area but it's even smaller than dance floor. 20 people will fit there at best.
