This place has become one of my favorite casual-but-great dining places. Never thought I would admit to eating a fried avocado but this one has me hooked. The service is friendly, casual and prompt. Good place to go on a Sunday evening to end the weekend or during the week for a night away from the kitchen.

Beautiful, in typical Stark fashion--lush and intimate dining room, very well appointed and comfy (though freezing!)--Jeremy Piven sat next to us at the bar--we rolled in just for dessert so we couldn't have a table (B-team, XIV)--friendly bartender (a Tiffani Theissen look alike, holler back Saved by the Bell)--interesting cocktails--mediocre (but pretty) desserts. Went for the rootbeer float (came w/ nice cookies--not a bad float, but probably wouldn't do it again--I really just wanted to cookies), and a marinated peach dish w/ elderberry (?) water, greek yogurt, tonic water sorbet, and pink bubbles of some flavor--visually appealing, though the tastes never came together--some bites were overly sweet, others bland--and I'm pretty sure that they sprinkled crunched up freeze dried styrofoam on top for texture...mmm.... If you want to go and be seen, perhaps this is the spot for you--I may go back for the food, although I feel like it's one of those places where the plates are more for show than for actual flavor.

Went on a Saturday. Dance floor smelled like the bathroom. Conversations went: "Want to dance with my friends?" "Are they hot?" "No, but they're rich!" Overestimated my soberness when it came to closing the tab and added extra $10 to final. Checked my card and was charged even though tip + drink cost didn't add up to the total. The extra $10, I'm assuming, was added to the bartender's tip. That would equate a 30% tip for so-so service - the bartender poured mostly shots and hardly mixed any drinks (the most ingredients in one drink were 3). While it was my mistake, I do feel that some principles of customer service weren't upheld (I called the bar but no one called back). At least take the $ from a rich dude who won't care (plenty there that night).
