by Christine M. on One evening I was out with a few of my friends and we wanted to do Karaoke. We decided to head out to 34th to see what Karaoke spots we can find there. Ugh, we went on a mission and search to find a karaoke place that had a room for us immediately and didn't cost so much. This place was our last hope and we thought we weren't going to sing karaoke but when we went up to this place, the staff took us right away and charged us around $30 all together for 4 people. We had two microphones and a small instrument that is similar to a maraca and we had a blast. We had our own, somewhat spacious private room to ourselves to scream our hearts out. The television screen was big and the karaoke machine was easy to use. There is a variety of songs to choose from including Asian (Japanese etc.) music. The song bank could have been a little bit better but I was surprised to find one of my favorite older songs (Crush by Jennifer Paige) in the bank. I wish that the actual music video for each song would go on with the music instead of seeing clips from Asian movies. I also wish that some of the songs didn't sound edited. The instruments sounded different in some of the songs. The place is pretty clean and they even have snacks you can buy from there. I don't know the prices for the snacks though. Overall, I had a great time and I am glad that I have found this place. I would come here again for karaoke.
by Smilingspiders C. on Yes, i should have listened. I will now obey rateclub as all knowing. Waiting in line, in the rain, the bouncer was nice frankly and pretty much just let everyone in. There were about 10 people in line at 11:30. No cover which rocked cause we had anticipated 10-20$. Pros: Inside go downstairs to brick walls, cozy feel, high ceilings, long bar, attentive bartenders, nice layout, decent music, killer speakers, bathroom attendants keep the short line moving. Cons: the crowd was lame, standing around not dancing, too cool for their own good or prowling for the hook up, almost meat marketish. Those two dudes from SNL were probably there bumping up on some chick somewhere. There is table service, so dont plan on sitting ever. expensive drinks. Will never return.
