HATED it. place is 2 floors, sort of small, but the leafy-ceiling decor is cool (only plus) was one of the few times when I almost fell asleep. It is filled with the corniest, ugliest people who truly and sadly think they are hot shit. Let's see, there are the Princes of Egypt and Lords of Bulgaria who have horrendous body odor & act like they are god's gift to women... then there are the dorky whiteboys who think they down and you just pray they don't look at you, and the handful of black and Hispanic guys who just are just trying to not have an ethnic night, looking pitifully bored but trying so hard to blend in. Ah, as for the girls, Russian wannabe-models with disgusting cheap Communist-era-skunk smelling perfume who snub the Taiwan/Shanghainese Princesses (with horrendous kitty-litter breath and who are so in love with themselves that they don't realize Euro-trash looks down upon them). Let's see, the wannabe models and princesses are all rude and flip too much hair...whiteboy with bad skin danced toward me and said "This is Busta Rhymes, he is the SHee-it whoo" and i almost barfed... Hispanic guys were the only decent looking guys but they did not fit in this crowd, asked me to take a pic for them most definitely to post on Myspace to show off their high rolling VIP weekend, but papi, ay, who you foolin... door policy is strict and judgmental, not worth it unless you are one of the above mentioned types.

*** Hmm, I dunno, I'm truly mixed about this place. *** I love the decor ... a roaring 20'esque speakeasy vibe. Red lights illuminate the entire place except for the stage. Heavy burgundy colored drapes, rugs and you get the drift. Problem here really is that it is an event driven venue imho. I wouldn't wander up in here w/o knowing who's performing. I came here to see Balandugu Kan, a percussive ensemble. Flyer said 9pm-2am. I arrived 8:50pm only to find doorman asking me to wait outside. For what? There's NO ONE here! Then 20min later dude invites me in and charges $5 cover. For what? There's NO ONE here! Then I ask where is the bartender? Oh he's outside b/c hey, there's NO ONE here! Prices are premium so I'd expect premium service. (urgh) Well, I must say that I loved the DJ. He spinned some great great world beat tunes. Kudos. But band did not start until 11:30pm. Cmon now, it's Wed! Band was ok, perhaps a lil too much into showmanship rather than rhythm ... but ok. *** I will return, but I'll do event homework beforehand. ***

I'm giving Bowlmor Lanes 4 stars for their Monday night special! For $24 you get a shoe rental and unlimited bowling from 9PM- 1AM. Its a pretty amazing deal. Our server was kind, quick and helpful. We bowled our fingers off. The place is really cool looking with glowing pins, and good music. Good times! My only issue with this place is that their food & drinks are expensive! By the time we got got our food and drinks, it was like we paid for all the games we played anyway. So I highly recommend coming here, on Monday night and just make sure you do your eating & drinking before hand!!
