by Audrey T. on XIV, I don't even know where to start with you. Michael Mina, you are amazing! First of all, the hostess, servers, bartenders, basically everyone, was so accommodating since it was for my best friend's surprise 21st birthday party. That I really appreciated it. Without them, especially Tai, the surprise wouldn't have been successful. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! While I was waiting for the birthday girl to arrive, I had a White Grapefruit Cosmo, which was pretty good. I only wish that it had been happy hour so that it could've been half-off. Oh well :) When the birthday girl finally arrived, she was so shocked. Thanks again, Tai, for coordinating everything so well. I don't remember if we had the 8 course tasting menu or the 11, but everything was to die for, even the Caesar salad, which was served with this one big crouton that was ultra nom. Other notable dishes were the tai snapper, the kobe sliders, hamachi sashimi, and lobster pot pie. I wish I could remember the names of all those other dishes, but it's been over a month. The tab came out to be about $900 for 9 people, reasonable for the quality of the food and service that we received. I was also totally digging the decor of the whole restaurant; dark, but classy, if that makes any sense. Another thing: valet parking in the lot costs $10 plus tip, just a heads up since I don't believe that they post it anywhere. However, this is a great spot to cruise for slutty gay men, shake the Jesus out yo *ss, say 'fabulous' and 'bitch please' a lot, drink cucumber martinis while critiquing people's outfits as well as eat dinner. The food is decent considering the club like atmosphere. Plus if you sit upstairs while you eat you can watch the male escorts in action at the bar... It's like the homosexual discovery channel live! Um, so yeah. I had the pork chop special. The meat was really dry...
