by Julia S. on I came on a Thursday night and loveeed it. I absolutely love the old school decor and vibe this place has. Live music and great people definitely helped. I like that the crowd doesn't just consist of girls trying to get in with as little clothes as possible. There is a dress code, so girls, look nice and boys, wear dress shoes. This place looks like an old mechanical factory turned into lounge. If you explore and walk around the area, you can find several secret nooks and crannies where you can hang out with friends for a more intimate feel. I ended up in a little area and started talking with the group next to us, which was super fun. Drinks here are expensive, so be prepared to spend a pretty penny. You can get drinks at the bar or find the absinthe fairy. She walks around and makes you absinthe drinks; you can't miss her. The only time I was unhappy was when I was waiting for a drink at the bar (I got the English Afterthought, and I did not like it. At all). I've never had to wait so long in my life. The live band kind of made up for it though. They're having a 35cent martini special from 5-7pm, Wed-Fri going on right now. Um, sign me up to come back to this soon!
by Toni Evanson on We showed up a few minutes before ten which is great because we avoided paying a cover. We walked in and I was one of maybe four or five males in the whole place. Apparently this is where women go for a girls night out. It was a Saturday so maybe the alleged 80s nights draws them in. Whatever the case they were soon clearing away tables and chairs. The lighting changes and it becomes a dance club venue...sort of. The walls and bar appear to be left overs from a more traditional pub. The DJ seems to be doing a lot up there with headphones and switches but generally the music just cuts from song to song with no transition and certainly no rhyme or reason. I've been to parties where people setup a playlist on their computer to play for four hours and it was 10x better than the random mix of songs (often not even danceable songs) that were played. When we left around eleven thirty I was amazed there was a very long line outside. I can only assume the location makes this place more appealing. I certainly wouldn't go looking for this place.
