I really wanted to like this place! So badly! It has great atmosphere and the DJ was playing fun music but what transpired at the end of the night convinced me never to go back. I went there for a girls night with 5 of my friends. We had a great time despite the super slow, but seemingly friendly service,. We all paid cash for our drinks and our pizza as we went along. Towards the end of the evening my friend's husband showed up and was kind enough to buy a us one last drink . He ordered 3 drinks in total. When he went to settle the bill before we left, he was handed a $65 tab. He paid the bill thinking that this was the tab that us girls had run up, but it wasn't, since we had already paid. When we realized what happend in the car, they went back and explained things to the bartender thinking it would be resolved. It wasn't. The bartender told them that we would have to produce receipts for all of the drinks we had purchased. Really?! Who gets a receipt after paying cash for each drink? I don't think we were even offered a receipt after paying each time. It makes me so angry because my friends were basically stolen from. Now I will never go back and that makes me sad because we were thinking of making it a regular spot since they have good music and pizza:( If you go here just beware of tabs and make sure you get a receipt for each transaction!

Nightlife Spot: Yoshi's San Francisco I attended the Sony Holland show http://www.sonyholland.... We arrived a little early as one of my friends had dinner reservations. I and another friend had already eaten though they allowed us to get a table together even though the reservation was for one. I was very impressed by the restaurant, it's ambience, it's simple yet stylish decor and mainly by the knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff. I actually did try a shrimp tempura spinach batter dish and tried three different sakes. Sorry I don't remember the names but they were all wonderful. I also love the idea that you can see the entire kitchen area while dining. A great experience in the dining room. The show was fantastic, as always with Sony and her band. The jazz room is much like the Oakland room though with more seating. Beautiful high ceilings and good lighting. I do have to admit that there are a few kinks to be worked out in the jazz room but they have only been open for a couple of weeks so you've got to cut them some slack. I'm just ecstatic that FINALLY, we have a top notch jazz club here in San Francisco. I will definitely be going back again and again. Another thing I just remembered the drinks in the jazz room are affordable with a wide range of sakes to choose from along with your regular bar fare. There is a one drink minimum which I think is great. Normally, places like Pearl's which is now closed there is a two drink minimum which becomes expensive if you are there for both shows so I was happy to see the one drink rule. In conclusion if you want to see some headliners and some of the best names in the business, get out to Yoshi's both in SF and Oakland.
