by Karen K. on I haven't been to Atmosphere for a while but I used to go there all the time. From the sound of these other reviews, it's gone down hill. I always had a great time at Atmosphere and never had any problems getting in. I guess it helps to know someone but even when he wasn't around, I could usually slide right in and not be harrassed by the bouncers or ticket girls. IT ALWAYS MAKES SENSE TO CHECK AHEAD FOR GUEST LISTS. Just a rule of thumb people, if you bitch about the cover or that it's too long a line, then you didn't do your homework! I went to Atmosphere from the very opening, so I've seen them throw a good party but yes, from time to time the crowd will still be lame. Here's a tip: The later you go, the more crowded it will be but also the better the party vibe. The front of the club is for lounging and for more low key chillin, thus the bartenders are also more low key. The back of the house is where the party's at. The bar is plenty big and they have plenty of bartenders so just keep it together or else pay for bottle service and shut up. The DJs are mostly your run of the mill Top 40 guys/girls but there's plenty of room to dance and people watch. For some reason, this place attracts a lot of skeezy guys so, girls, watch your backs. The bathrooms are nice and big and BONUS - they have a bathroom attendant. Don't forget to tip the attendant, they have to smell your shit all night! Occasionally, there will be a big name roll thru for a short concert/appearance. So it's worth checking out the events. Overall, I have never had a bad experience here, but maybe I'm blessed... by Esteban Griffeth on Everything is served family style so it's nice to go with a group so you can try more stuff. My favorite was the crab & uni risotto. The sushi rolls were good, but on the small side. The short ribs were delicious. Service is a bit slow, even if we were basically one of the only groups eating. The Lobster Tempura was just okay.
