by Liz V. on I heard from several people how "wonderful" and "delicious" this place was so I was excited to try it. After reading over the menu it looks like it will be anything but your usual burger joint until you realize this place is a la carte, code for rip off. What I ordered off the menu is not what I received. Sure there was a lot going on but it lacked flavor. I ordered the Gyroburger and the cucumber sauce smelled like B.O. The smell was so bad half the booth slid away from me! The lamb burger was the size of a quarter and disappeared in to the overwhelmingly large bun. There was random cucumber bits on top that also sunk in to the bun as well as a pickle that also smelled like a stairwell of a parking garage. "Get the rice krispie shake" the waitress insisted, again, save yourself the $6 and the let down. The shake claimed to have cake batter ice cream with bits of rice krispie treats as well as a block of the gooey treat on the bottom, like a hidden prize. It arrived to the table and I had to use a fork to eat it! The "random" bits were bricks of rice krispie treats and the prize on the bottom was burnt, frozen and stuck to the bottom of the cup. The "burnt marshmallow top" was a scoop of sour whipped cream. Our waitress had an obnoxious Paula Deen like accent which I assume is show considering half the staff looked like they graduated from Devry. If you like that Ikea kitchen, institutional, eurotrash atmosphere you'll love Flip. Just make sure you save enough change for a real burger at 5 guys because you will leave hungry.
