I've been eating at Trudy's for years, and although it might not be my favorite Tex-Mex place, the stuffed avocado is one of my favorite dishes anywhere. Also, the Mexican Martini is awesome and I know you used to get a free one on your birthday, not sure if that's still in effect. The "Trudy's Trio" was a game consisting of going to all three locations for your free Mexican Martini, without dying of alcohol poisoning. The service is usually great. In the past few months, once our waiter forgot to put our order in and our food came about 15 minutes later than it should have and another time we were told 20 minutes for a to-go order and it ended up being 45 minutes. (25 minutes of waiting at the bar for our food) In the first case, they offered us free chips and queso and comped then entire meal, which was more than enough! The second time they gave us a comp card with our food (that was approx. the cost of the meal) but then a manager called me back later to say that wasn't enough and is going to mail me another comp card. I can't remember the last time management at a restaurant has been so adamant about making something right, really going further than I ever would have expected. I'd rather dine somewhere that makes mistakes every once in a while but when they do, they realize it and more than compensate than a place that rarely makes a mistake but tries to pretend like nothing is wrong when they do. Also, they don't take "reservations", but you can call ahead to put your name on the list (at least at the North location) hours ahead, which is essentially a reservation but I guess they don't want to guarantee it?

Great bar with a great feel of "comfort" and a place you feel you could really just kick back and enjoy. I always love one way glass in bathrooms, makes me feel naughty (although some would also love the little mirrored shelf in front of the window, to feel really naughty!) Of course the photo booth was a cool idea, Tripp was a great host, but I have two hesitations.. The drinks were very, I mean VERY inconsistant in terms of pour, WOW, that was strong, and What? Where's the booze? It's sad when you can set two drinks next to each other and would have NO IDEA they were the same drink. Also, I prefer when given my credit card receipt, that I get a break down of what I have been charged, not just the slip to sign. I may not recall how many I ordered, but at least let me take a look at it for my own piece of mind....
