Great place to relax. Drink Coronas from a bucket on a rustic boat. Eat burgers, clams, fries, etc. Have a titanic moment. Explore the video-game-like rooms of the smaller boat. Bit pricey but so worth it. Gets very crowded during after-work hours. Yuppie crowd.

My first visit to Six Feet Under near Oakland Cemetary! I ordered the Blackened Shrimp Tacos, white beans, and hushpuppies. The Blackened Shrimp Tacos were delicious except there were mostly chiffonaded spinach, no cheese, no cucumbers, very little fried leeks, no onion relish, no cucumbers wasabi. I didnt realize this until much later afterwards re-reading my to-go menu on way back to office. During the meal I kept thinking this would have been better if the tacos had more filling, now I know why. (Should I ask for partial refund on next visit?) The white beans were smaller variety than those found in canned versions and very delicious; almost Italian tasting like minestrone. Hushpuppies didnt taste anything like cornmeal variety; very bland and gummy , almost if no milk or water was added to the mix. I did like the side green salsa though. Sweet tea is great! Didnt do dessert though. The service was very good. Nice view of of Oakland Cemetary.

The introduction: The night started out bad because of ED HARDY's whiny representatives. They were one of the evening's sponsors. We reserved a table upstairs in the VIP area but were repeatedly harassed by people partying on Ed Hardy's company money. "This table is reserved! You can't sit here!" "WAAHH~" they continuously cried. My first reaction was to bark back because WHO ARE THEY TO TELL ME TO MOVE?! Right? But after looking at their faces, I could see the look in their eyes of feeling unimportant, so I felt sad for them and embarrassed for the name Ed Hardy. The club: For the mix up on table reservations and a certain someone representing the club who approached me without checking things out first, I would have given Highlands a lower score. He tells me, "I'm sorry folks, but these tables are reserved." So I reply, with a smile, "Yes, they are. By me." He leaves to get the manager. And this is where things improve. Long story short, the fantastic manager, Adam, apologized for the inconvenience, moved us to a much better location and compensated us kindly with a bottle of my choice... tequila of course ($400 on their menu). Now there's a man who knows how to handle a situation professionally. He took a sour beginning and turned it around with lime and salt and professionalism. The Conclusion: Long lines so arrive early. The people working the lines have to put up with a lot, so don't take any of their attitudes personally. If you want to avoid the lines, reserve a table. Then walk up to the front of the line and let them know you have a table and you'll be sent straight in. But this wouldn't be advisable for people who don't drink much or if you are tight on cash. If your server's name is Jodi, be nice to her. She was nice to us. Thanks: I'd like to thank Jodi, Adam and rateclubs for my very first post! Mom, thanks for feeding me when I was a child. Dad, thanks for wrapping me up in your coat and taking me to my first night club when I was 18 months old.
