by David Yenglin on stupid hollywood. it happens. those nights when i end up in a-hole-y-wood and recently, hwood. this review is for the new asian night. at least that's what i was told it was called. apparently, 'asian nights' at clubs exist. and i guess this means only asians go get their party on. behold, if you see two latinas at the bar. no, we are not from Miami just because my sister has an awesome tan. for real, we were asked if we were from miami. i was a minority and i was ohk with that. the only part that bothered me was when people asked me WHY i was there as if i wasn't allowed to be there. thanks, guys. i was there to be with my super-duper awesome asian friends. anyway, i will admit that i was entertained, mostly because my sister was trying to dance all hyphy and shiz. i'm not sure though if i'll go back because i hated their bar outside. i get really angry at the bars in hollywood, so i'm not even gonna go there. dive bars fo' life. oh yeah and the music. meh. top 40. overall, the place is old and nice looking, dark with chandeliers and plenty of seating. it was super hot and humid. the smoking area was also sticky. i felt like i was in Miami even though i've never been there but i'm imagining that it would be like that and full of dudes who drink vodka cranberry, so maybe i was in Miami. the restrooms are lame. i'm horrible person and while waiting to use the restroom i was surprised to see a guy come out of the ladies room. yeah..i made him go back in to put the toilet seat down. i have a feeling i didn't get to see the other part of the place. if it's also a restaurant i think i would probably have a better time hanging out there than in the club-y envirionment. maybe another time i'll have better things to say about the place. props to the bouncer who went next door to get us validated while others had to go downstairs. i guess it's good to be a girl in h.wood.
by Vernon Flaim on Overall its a an ok joint. The place is a bit rundown and everything seems a bit old. But they still charge westside prices... Somehow this place seems to alienate the Trojan Nation. They have a bruin burger... they have ucla signs - why would any sc guys watch a game here?? Wow - hopefully they wake up and tap into the SC market. But I must say that the burgers are pretty good.
by Alex L. on I dined there and then hung out at the pool on a Thursday. The food was 4 star not 5. It was good but not impressionable. I might have had the wrong dish. Then I made my way to the pool. The doorman did not want to let us into the pool but then decided too. (LA thing, I guess -snooty). Pool was packed and good music to chill. Crowd is typical LA. Two girls in the pool were topless. Reminded me of the show Entourage. Overall it was ok. Did not feel like it was anything special that night but it does look like it has potential. I will probably not go back. To many other spots that are better.
