This review is for the Sunday night party, Vandam, which is queer and seemingly more chill than the other straight nights. No gender ratios to worry about or staff attitudes - it's an awesome place/day to shake it. I suggest arriving on the earlier side if you don't want to stand in an enormous line and enter the club when it's like a package of sardines. I got there around 10:30p and we were one of the first people there. It was nice because we got to check the place out, grab a cocktail and stake out a spot. The mix drinks are $13-$15 (beers are $9) so if you're unwilling to splurge in that way, I'd bring a flask or drink before you get there. The prices don't bother me too much because I expect that kind of thing from a popular club in NYC, and I go into the night knowing I may only have one drink. The positive is that there is no cover charge, so it all kinda evens out if you limit your intake. The venue itself is so unique and the LED lights are really cool. The whole green/eco theme is fun, especially downstairs where it feels like you're dancing underneath a freakin' forest! The music upstairs will sounds more familiar, twists on classic dance hits and top 40 stuff, while downstairs is a bit more house-y, but both areas are a blast.

Shine for the 2-way glass? The photo booth? (Thank you for the demo of the booth Kristin and Nish). Would have to say it's Trip's excellent hosting and sweet albeit babyish staff! Was expecting a more distinct or unique personality to be present from the various reviews and for such a vivid name. I would actually give it a 3 if it wasn't for the photo booth, bathroom glass and staff. Then again, the lights were bright enough to see everything so perhaps the ambiance didn't get in full gear. Never got to have my booze shot for my info trade (heh, karma biting me in the *ss for those info cards we made various elite squad fill out at the IO event), but my conversation partner had possession of the tickets.
