Take your average packed-to-the-gills, instant firetrap kind of NYC dance club experience with wall-to-wall drunks, and put it on a rusted-out hulk of a boat far away from the trains. Edgy!

My brother in law who is a bbq snob and sells food for a living, recently came to visit, and had this to say about the Salt Lick......"just as people make pilgrimages to Mecca, those who have belief in the power of brisket, need to make a pilgrimage to the Salt Lick" I couldn't agree more, additionally he was stopped recently in NYC wearing a Salt Lick T-Shirt and had a 30 minute discussion about the brisket with some stranger who had been there many years ago. Only in NY.

I normally hit this place for lunch or right after work - not as a night spot. The service, while somewhat inattentive is sufficient and the food is always pleasing.
