by Darrell Conninghan on Probably the best restaurant on the Dyckman Street "restaurant row" west of Broadway. It's fun, the menu has variety, and the sangria is probably some of the best you can find up here. (Though I think Guadalupe's is the absolute best!) To me the food seems overpriced, so I usually order one of their personal pizzas as my entree and I'm good to go. Much of the menu I'd call "upscale Dominican", not a bad thing at all. I really enjoy the appetizer of plantains stuffed with fish, it's a tasty snack to share. The ambiance is a little sexy but it's versatile enough to come with a group of friends as well as a date. When it warm they have sidewalk seating and you can count on pretty much every table enjoying a pitcher of their sangria. Definitely have it if you're here! Haven't been for brunch but from what it sounds like based on everyone else's review, it seems like you can't go wrong. Late at night and on weekends, much like many places around here, it turns into a clubby scene.
by Luis Linsenmayer on Im not a big fan of Saint but have ended up here a bunch of times. Two best nights I believe are Friday and Sunday nights. Music is not to bad, drinks can be pricey, as well as admission if you not on the guestlist. First time I went I though I was in a well done up basement party. Girls can be snoby, I remember I was at the bar with my boy getting a drink and saw this BUTT ugly italian dude who was at least in his late 30s buying $300 dollar bottles like I was buying a round for my friends. But he had the most beautiful group of girls with him like he was flava flav or something!! I didn't see any cameras : / and when my boy tried to talk to one of the girls I think she ran a credit check on him because she didn't even acknowlage him and he is not a bad looking guy. So i just assumed the girls knew something I didnt. I guess I will end up going here again, just will get waisted before I go and have girlfriends meet us there.
by Jill C. on Where the hell have I been? I can't believe I've lived mere blocks away for years and just started rotating through the Castro nightlife circuit. This may have a lot to do with the fact that I'm a straight-up hetero female. Whatever. I'm late to the fun but not to the love. The Cafe is great! Clean booze-y fun for all. Nice bartenders, lots of rooms to find yourself in, and a great DJ! I'll be coming back, hopefully with my favorite new friend, who's so cute I want to PUT HIM IN MY POCKET!!
