by Danna G. on Came in here for a few minutes the other night. We got some jello shots, which were good. The place seemed friendly and had a decent vibe. There were some delicious looking drinks at the bar - sangria and a sweet tea cocktail. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes, half talking to friends and half waiting to order my drink. I was deciding between the sangria and the tea, so I asked the female bartender what was in the tea. She told me the ingredients and I said, oh that sounds good - I think I'll have one. She finished serving the people next to me a whole round of shots. I continued standing around, with my $7 out ready to give to her. She was done and then turned to the guy on my left, who had just stepped up to the bar, to ask him what he wanted/flirt. (My friend later said she had been ignored in a similar way in favor of random guys when she was ordering our shots.) I said something along the lines of ummm, excuse me? (Since I thought I'd pretty much already ordered the drink from her) and she told the guy to wait a sec, then turned to me and proceeded to yell at me like I was in middle school. Something about how she would take my order if I wait my turn but never ever to talk to her like that again. I took my $$ off the bar and the three people I was with left to go elsewhere. Seriously?
by Jarod Demro on This is a case where the rumors are actually true. STK is a very swanky and cool-looking restaurant, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Seeing that I'm not a steak person (but did go with steak eaters), I got the fish of the day, which I expected to be fresh. To my disappointment, the only fresh thing about my dish were the cherry tomatoes and leeks. All of the people that were with me got steak, and none of them was impressed with the meat. The sides, I have to say, were pretty good (we got the mac and cheese and corn pudding), but these two little sides did not redeem the rest of the meal. STK a great place to get drinks, but if you want good steak, save your money and go somewhere else.
