by Bennett Magouyrk on If I was a fan of reggaeton, hip hop, or the type of people whom like that sort of music/environment; then I would like The Little Temple. However, I am none of the above. BUT, I can acknowledge that it is just my personal taste and that the bar is not bad if I was into that sort of thing. Make sense or am I just talking in circles? The Little Temple is a medium sized bar/dance club that is a bit too large for that fact that even on a Thursday it was barely filled. But hey, that means if you choose to dance to Sean Paul that the dj is spinning, you won't bump into the sweaty Cuban next to you. Large U-shaped booths and a extra long bar sweeten the mix with a private VIP room next door (although I didn't see anyone venture in there...). The beer glasses seem to be a bit larger than average which is welcome (Blue Moon on tap!) but the bartender wasn't very much into having small talk or giving any bar love. I have to talk about the black and red bathroom. Although dirty, the stalls are VERY spacious. Enough so that if you are somewhat drunk, you actually have room to fall in there (Note to self: NO drinking when I haven't eaten ALL day!). Not my type of place but not awful either. It's a dive bar for the reggae crowd.
by Margaret A. on i can be found at middlesex lounge approximately twice a month, usually on a thursday or saturday evening. i'm giving it three stars because i enjoy dancing with my friends here. but there are a few things that irk me about this place. though i know that a calendar is available on their website, i always feel like the cover charge is imposed on a whim. some evenings it's $5, sometimes it's $8 or $10, sometimes it's nothing. also, sometimes they have luxardo cherries, and sometimes they have carcinogenic red dye 40 corn syrup covered cherries. and just last night i ordered a manhattan that was listed as $9 on the menu, but was charged $10. and now i have a hangover. from one manhattan. weird. as it turns out, whimsy and questionable intoxication are traits i don't value so much in a bar, but perhaps you do, so take it as you will. irks aside, i have fun here. the djs are excellent and the music inspires all to dance. the interior is well-suited for dancing, with an open space in the center and benches lining the walls for those who need a break or simply want to watch (ew). it's also the perfect place for my friends and i to play the "mit or harvard?" game. i'll let you figure that one out on your own.
by Jerrell Thundercloud on this place is seriously for "booking" ..you have to come here with the right group of people who can take care of you. There's a full bar and we got good service. got a plateful of fruit and other things to eat. lotssssssss of patron. fun dance floor and pretty good dj. not your average 'hollywood' club but worth coming to once in a while
