My first impression was how nice the place looked. The architecture and decor were amazing. It felt like I was in the 1920s. It was pretty neat that they had a little lounge area with old school furniture downstairs near the restrooms. I didn't grab any drinks or food but checked out the prices and as expected it was pricey. But that's expected for a place like this right? It was my first time coming here last month and I saw Sara Bareilles. Strong vocals, great energy, and she's so darn pretty! This was definitely one of my favorite live performances. The sound was great in the theater and it made the experience that much more intimate. I sat in the mezzanine section and had a decent view of the stage. I will have to agree with my fellow rateclubsers that their seats aren't the greatest. It feels a bit cramped like your knees will hit the seat in front of you. It reminds me at being at a baseball stadium. I expected parking to be difficult as it always is in LA but there are plenty of $10 lots around so rest assured.

I used to stay at the St. Regis hotel before I moved to NYC. It is a nice bar, slightly overpriced...but it is a must due for the wealthy in the area. It's a power spot for the Rich Old (50+) Men (the Young Rich Men (49-) are at the Pennisula accross the street) that go for your younger women (45 - 55). As a 30 year old...not my spot. The Bartenders are extremely nice and helpful. The waiters are the most obnoxious jerks I have ever seen. Every time I go there, the fat waiters push people around and tell you not to stand in certain spots. The waiters dropped this bar from 4 stars to 3 stars for me. Oh, and the old king is farting in the picture.

Mansion may be more for the "hardcore" partier. We decided to go one night because our friend was dating a promoter (men still had to pay $50 each, even with the help of the promoter. At least the women got in for free.) We waited about twenty minutes to get in, and then we were hit with the wall of smoke and people. The club was so crowded at 1 AM that we could barely get through the door. We shoved our way to the bar, ordered some shots, and ended up staying next to the bar the whole night. The music was good, a mix of techno and hip-hop. The bartenders kept us entertained and we got some free shots. One of the girls we were with had her cell phone stolen while pushing through the crowd, but one of the bouncers did try to help us look on the floor for it. Overall, I found it really expensive to be smushed into a club that is too crowded to really have a good time.
