by Lora Naughton on This is a great place for a birthday celebration or bachelorette party or any other group function (It's not really the type of place you go for a quiet dinner for two!) There's dancing, there's napkins, there's OPA! Very fun place, decent Greek food. I've had better but I've had much worse too! Their hummus is grind your own chickpeas and I can't decide whether or not I like that or not. They have excellent Saganaki (flaming cheese) which is the greatest appetizer ever created. Order it. You will NOT be disappointed.
by Ardith Balliew on YES... Martinis and Manicures! I have frequented many other Beauty Bar locations so finding the fairly green location here in Austin caused some skipping. Although I do agree that it's a haven for hipsters which both delights and scares me, the BEST feature about The Beauty Bar is somewhat of a secret. Can I trust you? You wouldn't ruin it would you? They rarely announce them but most nights when there is a big band playing the outside stage @ Stubbs you can find members of said band guest DJing @ The Beauty Bar after their show. I have seen members of Bloc Party, Snow Patrol and Franz Ferdinand scratchin' the vinyl. Good bar, good music, good looking hipsters that can dance to Flock Of Seagulls without shame... see you there!
