by Marian B. on Oh Colony! I walked your very floors when you used to be Ritual. And White Lotus. And all the other clubs you used to be. You've gone through as many face lifts as Joan Rivers. Nevertheless, I have to admit I like this most recent facelift. Gorgeous wood and beach theme ala the Hamptons. Love the theme and patio area with the pillows on the net. Diggin the uber cool vibe you got going on. Never had a hard time getting in coz I'm usually rolling with girls or a friend has a table or hookup. Crowd used to be SUPER selective but they're not as strict anymore. As with all other SBE locations and venues, this is another hit. I love it! Everyone else seems to love it! Until the honeymoon phase dies out, people lose interest, you're not the new "it" place anymore and in 2 years you go through another remodeling. Then... I fall right back in love with you all over again. ;)
by Kimberly Nesmith on Awful! Hotspot? More like Notspot! Went there for a friend's bday party who reserved a table. Got there at 11:25... the bouncer said "The place opens at 11:30" ok.. we stand around and ask if we can just sneak in... its freezing out! He turns his backs on us. =O Fine, we go next door for a drink and some warmth until friends get there. We go back at 12 ish... friends still not there yet. We ask to go in, but then the guy totally ignores us. Letting in everyone else- we are 2 Asian girls and the people who he let in were not Asian. (Oh- when I say let everyone else in.. I mean we were the only 2 people in line and everyone else did not even have to wait.... At all) No big deal... right? Its 2009..... Then more Asian friends come and the guy still ignores us and lets more people in besides us. Ok.. we'll wait.. Finally the one with the table arrives and talks to the "head honcho". Friend: we have a table Head honcho: how many? Friend: all of us here. Head honcho: (looks around....has this horror look on his face) "all of you guys?" Pause........ "fine... ID please." I thought.. ok this is just an exclusive place.. you don't want a bunch of hot asian girls in your place... fine... BUT then when I go in.. there were no good looking people and half of the people there were old.... Doesn't make sense... I wouldn't go if you pay me. I rather sit at home and watch CSI reruns.
