by Natalie G. on If you want somewhere to chill and have a good drink, with no strings attached or people judging you, GO TO 1642! This place is a really good spot! I loved the relaxed ambiance, jazz playing in the background, the hospitality of the owner Liz, and of course, the beer! When it comes to beer, I prefer light ones. But the Maui Brewing CoCoNut Porter (only $4) was so delish that I might be turned to the dark side! This place is close enough to downtown so you can hit up other places with time AND money to spare!
by Allen Casile on If you lookin to party with asians on a Friday night, this is your spot. I really think it's one of the nicer looking clubs in the city and definitly one of the larger. Very asian theme to it which obviously suits the Friday night crowd very well. There's two floors, 2 bars on the bottom and one on top. Sometimes the upstairs is empty. Prices are typical of meatpacking and there's a 20 dollar cover. Do expect to wait or get turned away if you're with a bunch of guys. The music is hit or miss. Sometimes they play stuff I've never even heard of or mix a good song with an obscure techno beat. If they stuck with hip hop, I would probably like this place a lot better.
