Triple Crown is tight. The staff were all chill. It was my first time here last night for an FTC benefit "Bound Together" party. They had a raffle with tons of prizes. The bartenders werent afraid to pour some stiff drinks. The crowd was super mixed and the dance floor isnt as small as some others say. Be back soon to try some pizza and drink a little more at the bar.

Emerald Pub, as of late, has been a go-to after-work bar for my office crowd and who can complain about a full-bar half-off happy hour? I surely can't. The dim lighting and overall dark mood do a good job of masking the divey aspect of it all, the bartenders and bouncers alike are more than friendly, and the drinks are strong like bull. Naturally, this place gets a lot of leftovers from Sway and The Anchor, so it's easy to write it off as second-rate. Sure, there are no celebrity DJs spinning 'til the sun comes up, but Emerald Pub never positions itself as such and deserves to be a destination all its own, at least for a few libations after a long day at the office. A warning to the weak - it is almost effortless to get drunk here. Emerald Pub really doesn't do "buzzes". It's one of those seedy bars where even the beer magically seems to double in stiffness. Keep the expectations low, your tolerance lower, and you're good to go.

I think I got a pretty rare perspective of Roe. I'll lay the scene: huge restaurant, long swanky bar, all virtually empty. Perhaps it was the fact that it was Tuesday night, but I'm not complaining that we were one of only 3 parties in the entire restaurant. As a result, the service was amazingly attentive and friendly. As far as the food goes, I thought it was pretty good. It's the whole Asian-fusion deal and for me perhaps a little too complex (how many ingredients and sauces does one dish really need?), but tasty nonetheless. I thought some of the flavors were a little weird... uh hamachi with lentils and chorizo? not your most typical pairing... but i ate the ingredients separately and it worked. If it were cheaper I would go back, but given that price range I'll opt to try something new.
