We went here the night before Halloween (Friday night) for a late dinner not quite knowing what to expect. We arrived right about 10PM and the place was plenty crowded and we still had to wait for about 15 minutes for seating, so we had a glass of wine at the bar which was also pretty crowded. The lights were very dim - not sure if that was just for the Halloween atmosphere or not. The whole place was decorated cool for Halloween and all of the staff were dressed up in great costumes - everything from Popeye the Sailor as a bartender to a rather authentic Doctor looking guy to a Hooters Girl (who was our waitress). Food was great. Of course, its basically fancy hamburgers and the usual sides (fries, onion rings, etc.), but the way it was presented was great and the variety of burgers you can get is good. Everything from a mushroom patty Swiss burger to turkey burgers and everything in-between. I had the regular Flip burger complete with the Vodka battered onion rings which were good. My wife had some of the brown sugar sprinkled zuccini sticks. We finsihed it up with a Nutella and marshmellow shake which was very good - the marshmellows were nicely toasted. The bar had cool flat screens behind it showing Halloween movies which was pretty fun (watching the Amityville Horror in silence on one screen and Young Frankenstein on the other one while dining). The waitress we had was attentive and fun as well, so all-in-all a good experience. It also looks like there is a nice patio for use in the warmer, dryer weather as well, which would be nice. If you're looking for a gourmet experience, this might not be the place - but for a nice, fun meal in pleasant surroundings that isn't terribly expensive, this is a great place.

previous experiences at Jean Georges restaurants have been so-so. The spice market in NY is not my favorite restaurant, but tolerable if you like "Asian street food". Located inside the W midtown Atlanta the restaurant is lost in the design of the building and associated/adjacent lounge. It's a casual dress restaurant however the designer of the staff uniforms didn't get the memo. The uniforms look like they were copied right out of the ahhhnold s movie, total recall. The décor looks like it's right out of Pier 1 outlet. I wasn't impressed and you can hear the clamor from the lounge and lobby. The place is trying to pass itself of as "trendy" but not sure Atlanta is the right fit for this incarnation of Spice Market. I wasn't really impressed with the entrees. My snapper sucked. Avoid it. I returned it and had appetizers which were decent. The Chicken and Coconut Milk Soup hit a home run though. The party I was dining with didn't think their entrees warranted the price or praise. The straw the broke the camels back was the check out. I can understand slow service if it's impeccable, however the service here is slow and error prone. The bill needed to be split four ways and somehow, I was double billed. Checking out cannot and should not be this difficult! . I would not recommend this place for a date, special occasion. I would recommend it as a place to meet for drinks and appetizers before the evening gets into full swing.

Went there once, had fun. The place was more nicely decorated than your average bowling joint. Expensive but a cool place to be, nonetheless.
