What a disappointment!! I love Two Urban Licks, so when I found out we were going to a birthday party at One Midtown Kitchen (same owners) I was very excited! Little did I know.... The only positive - decor. It was gorgeous (despite being in the most off the wall location). We sat at our table - it was a group of 12. The waiter comes around and passes bread and some green mixture to the table. Being allergic to soy, I asked him what it the dip was (didn't look like butter to me!). He had to check, and then came back to say it was edamame hummus (soybeans!). I ask for some butter please, stating I am allergic to soy. That never came. We then order appetizers. An hour and a half later, we still couldn't track down our waiter to order entrees. Truthfully, I wish we never did. The waiter said the hanger steak was the worst thing on the menu and since I really enjoy steak, I inquired about the Striploin. He said "it's beef." No sh*t sherlock. Boy I wish I didn't! My husband and I both ordered the striploin. You couldn't even cut the meat with the steak knife - that's how tough the meat was. My polenta had literally zero flavor and my husband's french fries were soggy. I've eaten at some wonderful places around Atlanta and think this is by far the worst dining experience I've had so far. Stay away!! (or come for a cocktail before eating elsewhere!)

So I went to this aquarium on the weekend and it is definitely as packed as they say. Expensive with screaming children and pushy parents makes me very nervous. Most of the time you have children here at the age that they wont ever remember coming and pushy parents that use their children as an excuse to get in your way so they can see for themselves. However, the animals are very worth seeing you just have to be tricky. Your going to have to wait in place and just kind of inch up to the glass but eventually you will get there. And the animals are great. Theres whales, whalesharks, mantarays and otters. A lot of fun. Heres a few pieces of advice about getting to see what you want. The feeding for the whalesharks and belugas is at 3 but honestly it is not worth the crowds so go enjoy seeing everything else while its less crowded then head to these two exhibits when they empty out. And the biggest secret is head to the ball room and turn left. The beluga whales have another window there and two of them actually enjoy playing there more often. There is literally four inches of glass between you and a dancing whale that is staring at you. If you put your hand to the glass it will press its head to the same spot as if your touching. Its amazing. and theres like no people here so you have this great experience without the hassle. The other side of the big tank is in the ball room too so youll get a better close look at the whale sharks than the packed feeding room. The ballroom is upstairs. It was the best part of the whole place.

I like king king. For the most part, there is usually pretty good music play there. Kemal plays a good set. THere are always random people trying to bump and grind. But ehh whateva..They can do their thing. Most nights it really depends on who plays that makes a party great. If the music sucks.. I can still have fun with the right people, and alcohol might help... BUT if the music is right it can make me high and I don't need any alcohol and I could probably hang out with myself, the dj, and the music! There are a few times when I have been completley bored. I heard that King King used to be way better... That was when all of my friends used to go quite frequently, but I was under 21 so..i guess i missed out during t good times. Should def check it if youre a house music fan. Especially if your looking for more funky or soulful house and not hard house. UPDATED REVIEW 11/06/06: KING KING is not fun anymore. The bougie crowd has taken over. The music isn't that great. That's all there is to say!
