by Ryan L. on I'm shocked that this place would have anything less than all 5 star reviews. I haven't read all the reviews but I thought as the flagship store of Whole Foods, it lived up to everything it could be. This is like the Disneyland of grocery stores. Whole Foods is located on Lamar in downtown Austin. It has a parking lot and overflow parking in an underground garage. I know they must maintain it well because I saw a guy marking tires with chalk during the middle of the day when it wasn't even that busy. The store has several different areas and is much like a normal whole foods but on steroids (like a WF would use steroids, right?) What's impressive are the different restaurant stations around the store. There is a Barbecue station, burger bar, salad bar, pizza station, gelato bar, coffee bar, and more that I can't remember. Anything you want you can find at this store. The middle contains beauty products, health products, medicine, toiletries and even other items that facilitate a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, this store is modern and clean. It's well decorated, interesting and spotless. The only drawback I see is that this place would be difficult to shop at regularly. It's large, busy and has a lot of stuff you wouldn't need for a normal grocery shopping experience. Other than that, this is the best grocery store I've ever ben in.
by Eric on This is the fourth time I have been to this club and each time it has been a fantastic experience! The people who work there are courteous and the environment is very positive. I live in Seattle but I usually have guests come down from Canada to join me and I bring them here. The drinks are reasonably priced and the music is pretty good. If you request a song from the DJ, he will actually play it for you if he has it. Last night (Saturday) the three friend's that I brought with me loved the place. The club is basically a black club, however I am white and my friends are black and we had a great time equally. Thank's GEC for the great time!
by Jag Girl on Club is in a great location within Lakewood. Parking is great because surrounding businesses are closed during their hours of operation. The have some pretty good DJ's. The crowd is older- some 30's but mostly 40 and up. Not easy to get around in the establishment and can become very hot, even in the winter months. The bartenders are very cool! Drinks are STRONG. A double is the norm at the Golden Eagle. Drink prices are comparable to other social clubs.The food is decent.cover charge is $8 you can get a month for $10. It typically doesn't get to capacity. I have only waited in line once. Not the best place for the most eligible professional. Lots of married old men, cougars and a few service men from Ft Lewis and MCChord. Its one of two spots for Black People in Tacoma.
by Jack Generoso on My boyfriend took me there to celebrate my birthday last Saturday night. The music was very hip and up to date. The bartenders were attractive and attentive. They also have a coat check. The bathroom needs a bit more room especially for females. Comparative to NYC/DC small clubs it's no match but so far the best SanFran has to offer at a reasonable price. My new gf and I will frequenting Icon for our girls night out.
