Around 3-3.5 stars - I came here on a Wednesday night to watch my friend's band perform. Bilal listening party + the DJ was on point, so 4 stars for music. Overall vibe is laidback - it may be different on weekends, but for the most part people were just standing around. I might bump my rating up if I return on a weekend and it's a little more lively. Service & drinks were good - drank a lot of Henne that night :) Little Temple is not in the best area and there's not much going on next door, so I think it's one of those places you go to stay the whole night. Overall, I'd recommend if you are looking for a chill night with good drinks & good music.

Ridiculously crowded! The upstairs plays a decent mix of hip hop but attempting to steer clear of the coke heads is almost impossible. It's easy enough to get in if your a girl, the bouncers are pretty sweet. Drinks are average.......music is average.........crowd is average........you get the picture.

*ponders the votes for coat check below. since when?!* I have probably been to the Phoenix more than any other bar in the Boston area, or maybe even in the world, mostly because of the long-running Wednesday night techno party. Beers are reasonably priced. Food's a little expensive for what you get, I think. Ever since the smoking ban though, it can get kind of smelly from the bar dishwasher. Honestly, I'd rather smell like cigarettes than deal with the smell of bleach.
