by Diane Dumbar on 111 Minna is always like the reliable backup plan if youre just too damn lazy to try going somewhere else or dont know of anything special going on. Its almost always guaranteed to be a pretty good time here, but does get kinda super crowded and takes a while to get drinks at this joint. On the upside the cover is usually like $10-$15, the music is pretty on point and theres cool art to look at too. Another benefit is the big sidewalk on the street to smoke on, and often times its even more fun outside than it is inside. However, in recent months I have been noticing some odd events going on here on some weekend nights, but its all good....more often its a hit than not.
by Amber K. on For how many times I have been to this club, one would think "Yay! I'm a fan" would be the appropriate rating, but I simply cannot justify giving that many stars to Le Cercle. Whenever I go back to LA, my gfs and I swear we will NOT step foot in Le Cercle, yet somehow we always end up there. I think our record was 5 weekends in a row, with one weekend consisting of BOTH nights. If you're into Kclubbing, this, in my opinion, is the only one that's still any good. I've gone to Karnak and Velvet Room since Cercle opened and they were both ghost towns. Pretty hilarious watching a total of 6 old fobs out on the dance floor. Cercle can accommodate so many, I'm sure they're taking their business. It really is a superclub, it's HUGE! Which brings me to my next opinion of the place - for such a large club, WHY is the dance floor so goshdarn TINY?? I HATE dancing there, but I do find it amusing when the music switches to slow Korean love songs. When the dance floor inevitable clears out, I make my way in and reminisce about my HS prom. Next opinion: The waiters are too damn pushy. I've seriously had to slap a few hands because when they decide they want to "book" you, they just won't let go. Booking is an interesting concept. Definitely not a new concept. The girls are treated like hostesses at hostess bars, except they're not paid for their service. But if you want to get a free drink, or have an excuse to walk up (be pulled) to a table or room of random guys, why not? It's fun meeting new people. Plus if you're a group of all girls, you can get a free table with a smaller bottle of alcohol if you consent to booking all night long. I really wouldn't suggest that though. I have altogether too many friends who go here, which is why I end up at this club much too frequently. Although, I do enjoy always having an abundance of friend's tables (with fruit platters! never waste the fruit!!) and karaoke rooms to drink at and sing my little heart out "I'm just a small town girl.........." Btw, I still don't get why they have topless, white bartenders with long blond hair at a Korean club.
