by Rosy G. on I celebrated a birthday here, and I must say, it blew my mind away. This club/ lounge felt like I took a trip back to the 20's, 30's and even 40's era. I must caution you. This lounge is expensive. However, it is worth absolutely every penny. We walked in through the alley, took a walk down some stairs and were transported to another time. They had two huge projectors on the walls displaying black and white images of those eras. You will not find your typical "club crowd" here. You know, the ghetto girls eyeballing you, wanting to fight you by the end of the night for no damn reason. This crowd is classy. Everyone is smiling, talking about business, and relaxing after a long day at work. The highlight of the night was a show put on by this gorgeous girl. She belly danced on the stage with a huge snake wrapped around her body. It was very Shakira-esque. Although it was in the middle of May, a lot of people were in costume. I felt like I was in a speakeasy filled with flappers, handsome Frank Sinatras and even my favorite gangster, Al Capone.
by Rocky Flemm on Honestly, the food here isn't great. Good chips & salsa...but the main entrees aren't the things that have me coming back. Although I have heard that the stuffed avocados are amazing...but I'm just not really an avocado kinda girl. Two words: Mexican Martini. So. Good. It's so strong that each Trudy's limits it to two per person. Every Tuesday is Top Shelf Tuesday, so definitely come then to get your money's worth. But either way, it's worth it. Each strainer yields about 4 glasses...which is enough to make you start feeling it. Oh, and their fried mushrooms are worth ordering! It's off menu but if you ask for it, they know what you're talking about.
