First of all their web site said it 's free before 10:30, and we even had a email from the manager confirming that my birthday party of 20 people were going to be able to get in free as long as it was before 10:30. When we got in line to get in, the a$$hole of a doorman gave us a hard time and tried charging everyone $15 to get in- WTH? There's a lot of other places in the mission to party at, but do yourself a favor and don't go here!
by Megan H. on This is my favorite venue in SF, I wish all my favorite bands would play here. They usually host more of the indie/ underground type artists here. It has a more mellow vibe and is very small. It's also in the castro which is awesome for exploring at night. It's easy to get to, just go up market. But then good luck finding parking. I'd suggest BART, then a cab up market. Don't forget the last BART train home is ~midnight or so. I've seen Bettie Serveert, Mike Doughty (from Soul Coughing), and David Dondero here.
