came to Coda for a large group birthday par-tay. The music was so-so. The layout was so-so. But the food was surprisingly spectacular: Sophisticated menu ~Top notch chef ~Personable owner ~Attentive wait staff ~Yummy Yummy food that doesn't break the bank. ~rotating music line-up But.... ~minus one star for atmosphere (loud and without comfortable booths)

While I'm not the biggest club-hopper and would much rather prefer to find a cool bar and just enjoy a good football game on TV, I have really enjoyed the times I've gone to Primal! First time I went was for my birthday back in January (which was the grand-opening weekend) and it was PACKED. Insanely packed. Like, you-can't-walk packed. But a helluva good time, nonetheless. DJ Skribble was there -- which can't hurt any venue -- and he was amazing, as expected! The dancers were hott and entertaining, the drinks were good and stout, and it seemed apparent that a good time was had by all. Expect a long line and wait...and a pricey cover, which I think is extremely too much considering how big the place is and how many people they can fit in there. Surely and hopefully they can eventually get away with lowering the price and not hurt from it. But just as any other new club in the city, they'll see how much they can get...and for now, that's fine by me - it's definitely worth it!

This is my favorite concert venue in San Francisco. It's intimate, it's got a classic feel, and the sound is incredible. I swear nothing compares to this place. It has so much real character and appeal. I've seen some of my most memorable shows here...mostly neo-soul and r&b acts. I just wish more of my favorites artists would play here. It's really been a while......
