by Brock B. on Let me just get this out of the way, as a venue for bands, its a pretty cool place and the drinks are pricey. Now, to more important matters: I have never, in my life, been treated as terribly as I was treated walking into the doors at Webster Hall. The tall, old asshole that I later learned is the head of security, was cussing at patrons walking in the door. I heard him refer to one guy, to his face, as a "fucking piece of shit". I asked him a simple question and his response was "Get the fuck out of my face with your bullshit". Myself and the people I came into Webster Hall with were not doing anything to deserve such horrid treatment. We are all clean cut, concert-goers. We were not overly drunk or being stupid. The light skinned black girl working next him was just as bad. I plan on writing everyone I can to get these people reprimanded. I am sure it will go unnoticed as I can not imagine this being the first time people have had a problem with these high and mighty assholes. It almost ruined my night. I am not a complainer, but this was the worst experience I have ever had at the door of a venue/bar. Very disappointing. Signed, Doorman of 3 years.
by Numbers Maestri on I came here for the third time this past Thursday, and after that, my whole outlook of Sidetracks has changed. Before this experience I would have said sidetracks is a good, relaxed placed to come watch some games, drinks some beers (great specials during football games), nice place for happy hour with friends, (again good drink specials)..... but it wasn't until a devilish Thursday that I realized that I hate yet love Sidetracks! Every Thursday night, Sidetracks has an open bar from 11pm to 2am (or 1am... the night is so blurry) for $20 for girls, I think maybe $25 for guys. Anyways... it is mayhem! Mayhem! Now you would think it's a great deal, $20 for open bar...sign me up! Well no, its not, it sucks! I spent the entire time trying to get drinks! You are literally at the bar for like 20-30 minutes trying to get a bartender's attention, and at this point I'm asking for as many drinks as I can carry because I don't have the patience to wait another 30 minutes for a drink. Sidetracks please hire more bartenders! You should have at least 6 taking care of the bar, it's simply ridiculous. Other than that, which is EXTREMELY irritating, the music is great, the place is packed, and I had a great time. This applies to Thursday nights after 11pm, any other day, Sidetracks is pretty much ok. Thursday nights are definitely where the party is at!
