I love southern food and had high expectation for this restaurant but I am very disappointed. Let's start with setting: With rateclubs's 25.00 menu, we decided to try it on a Wed night.  The decoration is modern and with all the windows and patio, it give me a great first impression.  We have a 7:00 reservation and when we get there it's already packed.  Since we have 8 people, they reserved a big table for us near the main hall way behind the bar.  Not only the music is loud, we keep having people (including stuffs) bump into our chair. Not a pleasant way to start a meal. Food: Bread - Corn breads and biscuits were served and I love the corn bread. Appetizer - She-crab soup has too much cream and not enough crab.  Mussel quality is ok but sauce has a little too much tomato not enough aroma. Goat cheese green tomato has too much goat cheese that overpowered green tomato. Fried Oyster - oyster is not fresh and nothing special.  I have to say we are all disappointed at this point. Main dish - Nothing on our table was impressive, from the shrimp and scallop grits, pork loin, jambalaya, to my shrimp Purloo.  They are ok, seafood quality is just pass the mark, not fresh.  Overall the dishes are either soak in cream or oil, two bites into the dish you are feeling full.   The best dish is the pan-seared trout, it was well seasoned and cooked.  The rice and vege on it was great with the trout.  One thing was surprising to all of us was that for a high-end restaurant like this, I would expect they have a better quality of shrimp and pull out the vein from the shrimp!  We end up tasting all the dirt inside shrimps, pretty disgusting. Service is mediocre, just like the food nothing bad and nothing impressive.  They were busy and our waiter didn't make any effort to make us more comfortable or offer suggestions.  One of the bus boy even took our unfinished dish away without asking. Nothing stands out and no one wants to taste dirty shrimps with the price we paid.  I would've give it a 2 star but I gave it 3 star because 1) this is a southern restaurant so heavy sauce and oil was expected, 2) We did order a lot of seafood that night and I didn't  try their fried chicken and crab cake... 3)Some people at our table said the brunch is a much better experience. If I am in town again and happen to be near the restaurant with no other plans, I will give it a try again.

One of the best spots in the whole city. Go for the poetry, the vibe, the ambiance -- everything about this place just screams New York. Friday and Wednesday nights are especially recommended!

Its not just your typical country bar. Located on Burnet Road near Anderson Lane, Dallas nightclub is always hoppin, whether it is the rocking drink specials ( rumor has it at least one night boasts 69 cent beer for the ladies) or the diverse crowd ( all ages really means all ages, 21 and up of course.) Dallas really hits the spot. It has the best dance floor in town, always enough room to move around, and whether it is the two stepping that gets you dancing or the DJ spinning some hot jams on Salsa Sundays that make you move to the beat, this club has quite a following. And an added perk, for you true partiers, buy the VIL pass. "Very Important Lady," it gets you in free every night till February and only costs 5 bucks. Me- I'm a Sunday night regular. It's the only place in town you can salsa dance properly without smashing into your neighbor. And that, is a high compliment.
