by Rebecca G. on This is great place to spend a good chunk of the day on a Sunday! It's a fun place! There's always a wait for a table on Sunday mornings throughout the afternoon, but that's half the fun! While you wait, you can sip bottomless mimosas and chill, dance, flirt and mingle in the lounge area! It's kinda like a chill club/lounge during brunch time! The bottomless mimosas are $8. They have pomegranate ones too for $2 more, I think. I really love the Bloody Marys here too! They're spicy and delicious. To be honest, I was actually pretty bummed when we were seated finally. The best part is the drinking in the lounge! I like the decor. The seats are white and comfy and there's attractive purple lighting. The seating in the restaurant are all pretty close to each other, so the atmosphere is pretty lively, especially because everyone is drunk! The food was good, but not that memorable. The dishes are priced between $8 - 14. This place is mostly about the vibe, atmosphere and the bottomless drinks! This is where the partiers come, whether they're still going from last night, hungover or just getting their pre-game on early!
by Evelyn K. on 3 1/2 Stars. Some might consider the decor of the Continental Midtown tacky, but I think of it as one giant retro homage to the original Continental in Olde City. It really is an ENORMOUS place considering it is smack in the Rittenhouse/Center City area. Whether or not you like it, I think it is a good addition to the neighborhood that really solidified Rittenhouse's status as a nightlife destination. There are few places in the city like Continental Midtown. It's really a landmark that changed the landscape of Chestnut Street. My biggest complaint is that the service people (esp. bartenders) are not particularly nice. They are not rude, per se, but considering they're in the service industry working for tips, they could benefit from some classes in "how to be nice." Second complaint is that the seating is uncomfortable. Rooftop lounge can be lovely in both the colder and warmer months when the fireplace is on and the heatlamps are ablaze. If you're a smoker, the rooftop is an ideal place for you to be able to drink without having to stand outside on the sidewalk to smoke. It's really a one-stop shop for both eats and drinks, but I think of it more as a drinking place. When I have had food (lunch and dinner) there, it was satisfactory, though nothing particularly good. It's supposed to be Asian fusion cuisine, which I think is pretty hard to mess up and usually tastes pretty good. Quality is decent, though nothing too special. Cocktails are pretty pricey here for Philadelphia -- from $9-$13 per drink in my experience (but then, I usually request premium liquor). When the bar is busy it can take FOREVER to get a drink, so I recommend double-fisting it if you don't want to spend most of your night waiting at the bar trying to flag down the bartender.
