The Great American is my favorite place in the city to see a show. It doesn't necessarily have the best acoustics in the world, but it has an incredibly varied collection of bands, a broad-enough and somewhat reasonably priced bar and a ton of interesting perspectives where you can watch a band. It's not tough to get up front for most shows, and the stage is curved in a way where you can check out most medium sized bands easily. Or, you can check out the views from both sides of the balcony, especially the right side with that massive fan which is awesome during some of the hotter shows. Even just standing in the back I get a good panoramic view. Love this place.

Supposedly this is the only rooftop bar in the city. Have not eaten here but I have had drinks here on the roof. It's a yuppie crowd. Let me tell you, the views are magnificent! You can see the entire city from the rooftop. Its really good if you have guests visiting from out of town. Its very spacious but it can get crowded. Only issue I have here is that they have very limited liquor selections. They only have a few choices of beer, Stella Artois and couple or so others. The last time I was there I was with my ex coworker from Germany and her husband from Belgium. Well the Belgians and Germans have the best beer in the world so of course they were a bit disappointed with the beer selection. The reaction to Stella Artois on the menu was not so nice. My coworker had a glass of wine and the pour was rather week. She even asked the server, "Is that all the wine I get?" And the server said , "yeah". I give the place 3 stars just because of the atmosphere but if you want to go somewhere for actual drinks, I'd try someplace else.
