Forget dinner and a movie. Biscuits and Blues is THE spot to enjoy a great meal and entertainment all in one place. The setting is intimate and cozy. The house band is terrific and the perfomance well worth the $20 ticket. Because the place is small, once the music starts, the setting doesn't lend itself to conversation but it does guarantee you a great show. Their menu offers the ultimate in comfort food. There were no misses in our meal the entire night. From the fried green tomatoes and mac n cheese croquettes, to the Peppered Brisket and Fried chicken both accompanied by mashed potatoes; everything was deliciously hearty and satisfying. Their service on the other hand, left much to be desired. Our hostess, though polite, seemed inexperienced and in a hurry to seat us. Small details escaped her i.e. providing us menus (no brainer). Or placing a reserved sign on our booths to deter other patrons from seating themselves in our area (which many did). As for our waitress, she had a sour look on her face and didn't seem all too thrilled to be serving us. She did perk up towards the end of the night, which I'm guessing was due in large part to her guaranteed 20% gratuity (automatic for our party of 12). But at this point it was a case of too little, too late. Aside from the kinks they need to iron out with service, the live music and hearty fare equalled a good night for us all. Next time your weekend plans have you in a rut, opt for some live music and dinner at Biscuits and Blues and leave the 'dinner and movie' for another night.

I truly DO NOT understand the obsession with this place. The hot dogs are greasy and cold and just plain nasty! Aside for it being an Atlanta landmark, what is the obsession? ANY TAKERS? Well I asked my co-workers and they seem to think that it the Frosted Orange drink that keeps them coming. I haven't tried it but there is something about the two words FROSTED and ORANGE that doesn't make a great combination to me. SORRY VARSITY. I did add an extra star for the service which was quick and friendly.
