by Teri Reiland on I love this place! Intimate venue, huge outdoor patio, three bars, minimal cover charge, valet parking, and a semi-secret unmarked restroom. My only complaint - unbelievably overpriced drinks, for this kind of a place. 9 bucks for a well vodka tonic? (that doesn't include tip, either) I don't think so. 7 bucks for a domestic beer? This isn't the type of place where you're trying to keep the riff-raff OUT.
by Edie Kitching on Only having witnessed Mezzanine as a venue hosting vendor fairs as well as art and fashion shows, I was curious to see its worth as a music venue when I attended the MIA concert last week. The acoustics are good, the space fairly intimate (keep in mind that it's no Cafe du Nord), and in between acts, the resident dj throws down some of the sickest sets I've ever heard.
