The Good: Plenty of lounging sofas outside, on the the Crimson side. Awesome dj (esp. dj Crump). Nice bouncers (with the exception of one, who didn't know where the hell the lines are). We got here 9:30 early for the guestlist & was told to come back at 10:30. When we came back, we didn't know where to go & the bouncer who told us to come back remembered us & ushered us in for free (to the dismay of the unhelpful Table Service hag). The Bad: Typical expensive Hollywood priced drinks. Seeing a drunk guy puke while passed out & carried out by his "friends" and bouncers. Small dance floor. No designated guestlist line. The Ugly: B*tchy Table Service hag who not only was rude but also poorly dressed. My sisters & I were confused & got into the table service line. When we reached the front, the b*tch shrugged her skinny a** shoulders, mumbled I don't know and turned around after we politely asked her where the guestlist line was. Tip: If you signed up for a guestlist, make sure you know or can recognize the promoter you signed up under. There are only two lines, table service & general line. Promoters hang out at the front during the first 30 minutes & if you're on the guest list, you need to recognize your promoter & be able to attract his/her attention so he/she can pull you out of the line & enter the club for free.

Webster Hall is a sprawling concert and event venue, offering several floors of live entertainment options. The Grand Ballroom is often home to popular live music performances. The acoustics are clear and powerful. The space allows you to comfortably cheer on your favorite group. A high balcony overlooks the stage and provides additional views. The large bar in the rear of the theater sells affordable, strong mixed drinks, beers, and wines. Mixed drinks are served in small plastic cups, though, so I would recommend sticking to beer. Though I have had pretty decent experiences at Webster Hall, I prefer to stick to more intimate venues when possible.

I almost went on a clubbing hiatus. I mean, why bother with ridiculous lines, bitchy pretentious attitudes, drunk sleazebags, vapid top 40 mixes, and sticky cramped dance floors filled with couples sucking the souls out of each other? Then, I heard Kaskade was going to spin at Vanguard so I sang to myself, "Another night out, another dance floor," and gave Hollywood another chance Saturday night. Bring your dancing shoes, because this place is not only huge, there are numerous stairs to climb. The club has multiple dance floors with multiple bars. Throbbing house beats not your cup of tea? The upstairs dance floor plays your typical top 40 mixes complete with a bar and a smoking room resembling a cage. Although, I'm not sure if upstairs is closed off for V.I.P. only. Want to get away from it all? Chill out on their huge patio located pass the main dance floor. Besides, you go to Vanguard for the love of house. Here, pretentious attitudes are replaced by good vibes. You know it's going to be a good night when the security guard high fives you then asks, "Are you ready to party?" Come in your t-shirts and Converse or your latest hoochie mama outfits. In the end, Vanguard is not about being in Hollywood - it's about losing yourself in the music.
