by Alexandra W. on We walked in and it immediately reminded me of being in Manhattan. Why? Maybe the industrial feeling. Who knows. There was a wait, so a friend and I stopped next door to check out the shop's wares. I SWEAR TO GOD I'M IN MANHATTAN NOW. It was right out of the MoMA store. But I digress. Everyone in the world ever and I had brunch here on Sunday. I've been into poached eggs lately, and was thinking about the Eggs Benny, but found out what Eggs Florentine is comprised of. They were good, though I almost wished I got the huevos instead. And then even more people I knew came through the door. Guess I'll have to go back!
by Dorotha Blackmond on My friend and I went to House a couple of weeks ago. We were initially going to go to Motions which is just downstairs, but it was freeeezing that night so just walking from the parking lot (which can be a bit sketchy if its just 2 girls) to Kenny's Alley (the part of Underground where House is located) was painful and we just wanted to get inside, anywhere. So we ended up at House, plus the crowd outside kept telling us it was better than Motions (not sure why, though I'd heard young kids frequent Motions). So we got there at about 11.15 and waited in line for 15 mins, which lead us to believe there must be a decent crowd inside, otherwise what are we waiting for??? We soon came to realize they just wanted it to LOOK like there were people there for those passing by, because when we got inside there were like 15 people. Thanks for making us freeze Mr. Doorman! So what to do when the club is too empty to have a good time? Drink! So I started with the drinks, in hopes that it would help, and soon enough it did along with the influx of people at about 1am. Could have been a few more people (preferably good looking), but what can you do... The music is all Hip-Hop which I like and its mostly people in their 20's, though I can't say I remember any good looking guys :/ Plus most of them were just standing around looking at the crowd which is always a bit annoying. My friend and I just wanted to dance so somehow we ended up in VIP which was nice, but I've definitely seen better. I wouldn't consider it an upscale club, its is small and oddly decorated (there is a huge armoir by the entrance), but if you have enough drinks and are just looking to have fun with the people you came with its okay.
