Oops. Another place I thought I reviewed months ago! Right off the bat let me say that I'd be giving a fifth star if the folks at Cafe Lift could secure more bike parking and a liquor license. With that being said, Lift is still one of my favorite brunch places. Despite the industrial-feeling space it's cozy as hell in there! It probably helps that they keep the La Colombe coffee comin'. The food is pretty bangin' ALTHOUGH the Huevos Rancheros contain LARD!! Boooo. Learn how to make shit without animal when it doesn't need it to be awesome!! Anyway...the potatoes they throw on the side of all the savory items are siiiick. YES PLZ I also like that Cafe Lift is one of those places that leaves a water pitcher on the table so you can refill whenever you want. Like anyone besides me gives a shit about that, though...

I never did go to the old Loca Luna location, so no comparisons here. I went there this past Friday with a group of friends. My friend and I ordered the empanadas and the vodka pasta. They were both okay, but nothing special, I've had better. The sangria was yummy though. I agree with everyone that the service is really poor. We waited forever for that pasta, and water refills seemed to take forever. I don't think its the servers' fault though, because I constantly saw him running around, I just think they are seriously understaffed. Don't expect prompt service here. The restaurant is pretty nice though, high ceilings, etc... but its cramped in there. No space to walk to/from your table even. I'm not big on salsa dancing so the fact that there wasn't a band that night didn't bother me at all. The crowd is really mixed, anything from college kids to old people in their sixties, jeans to cocktail dresses. Parking there is a pain, no free spots after about 8pm, so we were forced to Valet, which is "complimentary", you just have to tip the guy. Don't go there if you don't have time to spare, as service is ultra slow. Food & drinks are okay if you have good company. I don't think I'll be frequenting Loca Luna any time soon....
