I was staying at the W for business and rateclubs helped shine it's light on this amazing place. The name really threw me off, I wasn't expecting it to be really nice. Where to start with the food? Biscuits and cornbread awesome. Fried Green Tomatoes I'd never had these before (sorry) and they were Ok Fried Chicked was delicious Banana Pudding fantastic My boss flew in the next day and since he had lived in ATL insisted on taking us to this great place he knew...yep South CIty Kitchen. As much as I wanted to try out as many places as I could, I ate there again.

Can't speak highly enough about the spot. I went for the installation party for Chor Boogie and POW! I was utterly impressed with the crowd of progressives... I normally frown upon art events in SF, as I see far too many "in the know" types.... The kinda fools to walk up to you and say, "what do you see"? Strong space with a great owner, however. We need one in Oakland!

The Box is truly a unique club. I wish it wasn't so insanely expensive - even by New York standards. A table for six will set you back $1,000 + bottle service, but the crowd, the ambience and the ridiculously crazy show almost make it worth every penny. Its a relatively small place - 2 floors with about 20-25 tables total and maybe an extra 100-150 people (mostly beautiful girls) running around. The place has an amazing vibe that's partially due to the show/mc and partially due to a crowd that's there to have an amazing time. Its unlike any other place I've been, but unforunately a bit too pricey to become a weekly event.
