by Daniel G. on FINALLY. FINALLY. FINAAAALLLLYYYY!! I've been trying to see Bonobo for 3 years now when he comes to SF, and for some reason or another, i have had to miss every time that he comes. Well FINALLY, after 3 years and 2 new albums, i was finally able to go see Bonobo live and for me, at least, it was well worth the wait. I could easily make this review about the show that i came to here, and for that i would instantly give Mezzanine a 5. But this review is about the venue itself. I think that my only complaint is that they post the show time to be 9, but in fact, we didn't get in until closer to 10. Really, other than that, i have no complaints. The venue was easily large enough to accommodate the amount of people who they allowed in, which is always nice for a show. Overall, i would give a 4.
by Darcey Vorhees on MAYBE I WAS THERE ON A BAD NIGHT. i saw reviews on rateclub cuz i was looking for a gOOD HOUSE club. i went on valentines day, and it was really AWKWARD. i felt like the place shouldve been just a BAR instead of a club. the crowd was older and didnt seem as INTO it... and if the crowd isnt good, it does not make for a FUN TIME. the only good thing was cheap drinks (6dollar CHOCOLATE CAKE SHOTS!)! we stayed for about an hr, and the most fun i had was when the dj played fedde le grand- Creeps. i was hoping they would play more of this type of music, but they were playing more of ghetto-funk break beats that i just couldnt get into. awwwww man! :( over all, small place, awkward people, weird location, but CHEAP AND GOOD DRINKS!
