by Mike K. on The Varsity is the first place we wanted to check out when we arrived in Atlanta. We were totally famished after a long drive down from the blue side of the Union and needed sustenance fast. So here's my landmark 50th review of a landmark establishment. On our first attempt to eat here the place was a mob scene in that it was overrun by Falcons fans. I thought the place was just really popular until I asked a guy in line what the hubbub was. The Falcons game had just ended. Dirty birds. We didn't want to wait, so we decided to come back a day later. Anyway, on our second try we were able to park without problem and order. The car hop who waited on us was very entertaining with his rundown of the menu for rookies. That dude needs to be in show business. Anyway, the food here is reasonably priced and really only okay. The best thing I had was the chili dog. I ordered it as soon as the thespian, er, car hop told me it had no beans. Good call. The burger was only so-so, as were the fries. The requisite peach pie was messy. Overall I'd say this place is more about the experience than the food. We had fun nevertheless and got filled up for a very reasonable price. We did our job as tourists to stimulate the local economy.
by Jazmine Gesselli on Trinity is VERY PACKED with undergrads on the weekends. But my friends and I had fun after exploring all the rooms and having a few drinks. The music was a little loud, but the DJ in one of the rooms was quite impressive. Ultimately, our expensive visit ended with sweaty bodies and ringing ears from an hour of dancing. It was OK, but any bar is fun with a group of friends and a couple hundred dollars worth of drinks. Don't expect world-class service or upscale decor.
