by Renato Arreaga on Went here few months ago,, the place is cool and cozy. crowd is the yuppie bracket which is good. The place showed some class. In the first flor its where the people do their talking and mingling with each other..then ul see a stairs goin down its where the dancing people are found partying. I can say i like their music some good classy dance rnb songs and at the same time some popular music ppl like to listen too. They have 2 bars one upstairs and one in the party zone.. This is a nice place to chill out..meet people and meet new friends. My experience is good enaf. but i jts wish that they have more tables and chairs that can accommodate people..otherwse u have to bear the standing position for hours..but overall the place is good and classy.
by Israel Blackwater on Out of concern for your arteries, I implore you to stay away from here. After I ate here, I could feel my body rejecting the food, not in literal way, but I knew things were not settling. And that's when I wondered, "what's really in those hot dogs? And how is it possible the hot dog is THAT greasy?" Yes, it is cool that this place has a lot of history, and I totally appreciate that. In fact, I'd say it might be a good place to go-- once. I haven't been back since and I don't plan on it-- for the sake of my health.
by Frau A. on From what I understand, Mamajuana is a packed nightclub on weekends. I know nothing about Friday and Saturday, but at 7:00 pm on a Wednesday night, however, it's busy but not overly so. The Spousal Unit ordered the puerquito, described on the menu as roasted pork served with pickled onions and field pea rice, for $25.00. Our waiter said: "Erm, it's a lot of food. A lot." The rest of us said "Don't worry; he'll take care of it." "Okay," our waiter warned, "I'm just letting you know." Out came a whole roasted pork shoulder. You read that right: an entire pork shoulder, bone-in. 8-[ ] With a little help from a fork, the pork fell off the bone into its own juices, smothered with the pickled onions. About a quart of the field pea rice was served on the side. Incredible. The ceviche was incredible, too, as were the plantains stuffed with baccalau (salt cod). The raisin bread pudding was like the best cupcake you've ever had in your life, sitting on a delicious vanilla custard sauce and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, with a dollop of whipped cream and a few slices of strawberry for garnish. A ding-ding for noise: sometimes you have to work to be heard by your dining companions, which always annoys me. And because it's a nightclub, the drink prices are a little steep. But then, that's probably why their food prices are so reasonable.
